Temple Detroit. Mar. 23, 1908. 27. SCHECK BROS. Very good hand balancing act, but not to be compared to the act of the Belleclaire Bros. 9 min. FS. ARTHUR WHITELAW. Not a good act for this house. Lacks magnetism and originality. 16 min. in one. BYRON & LANGDON. Very good comedy act, but it appears to be misplaced and did not go nearly as well as when last here. 20 min. FS. or in 3. (Stage wait) MACY & HALL. In "The Magpie and the Jay." As stated before in the Temple reports this is a corking good sketch and most excellently played by Mr. Macy, Miss Hall and Miss Dodd. 23 min. FS. HILL & WHITAKER. Miss Whitaker got the first genuine applause in the show. She has not gone back a trifle since last here, and while I think they are overpaid about $50. still in the light of the fact that others without a particle of talent are getting as much it does not seem so very much out of the way. 17 min. in one. HORACE GOLDIN Goldin worked his first show with great celerity and without bungling which was somewhat of a surprise for the reason that his last time here he bungled very badly. 17 min, FS. FIELDS & WARD. Very good talking and singing act, but overpaid in my estimation. 19 min. in one. FOUR RIANOS. Very good comedy and acrobatic act particularly for the younger people who attend the matinee. 9 min. FS. KINETOGRAPH. "Scenes in Venice" is a good picture.
