28 Report on Columbus, Show, Week March 23rd. -- 08 -- [?. ?.] [Prosser?]. SCOTT [NELSON?:] "The Farmer & the Athlete" -- Comedy acrobatic act that is just fair. -- Opens with the Farmer in front and the conversation between him and the man on stage won a few laughs. They offer a routine of work on stage but seem to use a lot of time doing nothing in particular. -- The act got by and that was all. In justice to them it must be said that for the style of act, or rather the way they introduce their work makes the opening spot bad for them. 10 minutes in one:street. FELIX & BARRY & BARRY: Variety comedy act two women and one man. This act won some laughs. The work of the man and one woman is a trifle rough and I do not think it will go very well with our patrons during the week. -- The other woman is neat and seemed to make a favorable impression. Would consider this offering of but moderate value here. C. D. F. -3- 15 minutes. KAY COX: Songs and stories. -- She had quite a struggle getting things going but finally succeeded and finished fairly well. Not really a bad act and also not an especially good one. It struck me that the two acts preceding her going no better than they did, had the effect of making it unusually difficult for this girl. 17 minutes Olio in one. ALMONT & DUMONT: Really a cracking good straight musical act. All of their work was well received and they finished strong. Both make a good appearance and they present the "classy" act that is usually a favorite here. C. D. F. 18 minutes. HOWARD & NORTH: These boys went big, in fact were the first substantial hit of the bill. They won may laughs and the slight element of pathos introduced made good. -- They held them from first to last and finished excellently. Special in one 16 minutes. SIX AMERICAN DANCERS: An unqualified hit from beginning to end. Three girls & three boys and all of them dancers of the first water. This is the best dancing act this house ever had judging from its reception. Both the solo and ensemble work went heavily and at the finish they took five or six bows. 15 minutes 1 1/2. MURPHY & NICHOLS: "[Zaza?] To Uncle Tom." -- Well known comedy act and one that was a riot of fun. -- It went with a rush from the beginning and was easily strong enough to close the show. No possible fault to find. PICTURES: O. K.
