Saving...
(2) Fred Ray and Company. On at 3.10, 17 min, in 1 1/2; special drop. This well known act has not seen many changes since it was last played here, but went with its customary gusto. I would be a little fearful about using it as the next to closing feature, it has been seen here so often. Fred Zobedie. On at 3.27, 8 min, full stage. A most remarkable gymnast, his work being quite out of the ordinary. Made a decided hit. Could hold a choice spot on any bill Rather too quiet to open or close a show. Willa Holt Wakefield. On at 3.35, 12 min, in 1. Went as big as, if not bigger than, any act in the show. In fact she was about as near an approach to one of those much-talked-about, but rarely seen, riots, as we have had in a number of weeks. While I do not doubt that her work is over the heads of many an audience, still she is the goods for Boston. Inez Maccauley and Company. On at 3.47, 16 min, full stage. Playing "The Unexpected", a bright, breezy sketch with sustained interest, increasing to the climax, snappy dialogue and plenty of action. The characters and capitally played by Miss Maculey and Clarence Oliver, who is a clever light comedian. Belle Blanche. On at 4.03, 12 min, in 1. Went as well as could possibly be expected in this hard spot. Did a couple of new impersonations and made a little speech of regret that she had nothing more to offer, at the finish. The Seven Yiulians. On at 4.15, 11 min, full stage. All the good things that have ever been said about this act are true, and more so. It is the equal of, if not superior to, any acrobatic act ever on the stage of this theatre. An absolute sensation. I regret I cannot put it further up the bill, so as to get the full benefit of it. Kinetograph. On at 4.26, 23 min. "Fire Manoeuvres In Madrid"; an interesting "travel" picture. "Animated Snowballs"; a capital comic film. Nessen and Nessen. On at 4.51, 8 min, full stage; 3 shows. Excellent hoop and club act. Not quite as lively as when Hunter was in the act with his comedy, but all right for the money and capable of making a satisfactory opening act in the smaller cities. liner. It would be much improved if we had a strong comedy closing act, which would enable us to play The Yiulians up the bill.
