46. Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of April 6, 1908. (Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.) The bill in its entirety gives satisfaction. There are some features in it that are not up to the mark. Where they are extremely bad, they can be buried and other cases will be passed over. Waters. Comedy magician. Very good 3-a-day act. 18 Min. Full Stage can close in 1, 3 Shows. Electric Quartette. Failed to show up or send any word. Were replaced by Seymour & Esta, who haven't appeared up to now. Patrick Long. Irish Dancer. Something of a novelty in its way, which seemed to please, and is all right from the 3-a-day standpoint. 10 Min. in 1, 3 Shows. Blanche Everett & " Seymour. In an alleged comedy sketch entitled, "Stranded." This is about as bad a thing as we have ever had in the house, and there is no possible way of their ever making good. The women have no ability and the vehicle is entirely devoid of merit. The only thing to do with them is to bury them at 5.14 and 6.25. 25 Min. F. S. 3 Shows. Leville & Sinclair. A young fellow and girl, rather an attractive singing and dancing act. This is hardly a 2-a-day act and it seems a little too good for the average 3-a-day. Just escapes being a real good act. 12 Min. open in 2, close in 1, 2 Shows. Keno, Welsh & Melrose. Well-known acrobatic comedy act which did as well as usual. 14 Min. open Full Stage, close in 1, 2 Shows. Louise Agoust & Co. I see no reason for playing this act at all. There is nothing in it that commends it, in the slightest degree, altho it really doesn't give any offense. At about $125. I would be very glad to play it somewhere along about 7.40. At the present salary, I can simply say "stung." 20 Min. Full Stage, 2 Shows. Clifford & Burke. One of our old reliable blackface comedy acts, but they hardly seemed to score as well as usual this trip, because of lack of new material. I should want to know that they had practically a new act before playing them again. 18 Min. in 1, 2 Shows. Alsace & Lorraine. A very good straight musical act, with special scenic and electrical effects. Did very nicely indeed. 20 Min. Full Stage, 2 Shows. Lewis & Green. Two men in a comedy talking act, entitled "Engaging A Cook". One man "straight" the other as a "Swede", working from the audience. The men haven't any particular ability, but because of the novelty of the presentation and newness of most of the material (that is new to this generation) they did very well indeed. I don't believe it is an act that would repeat very well in the smaller cities. 20 Min. open and close in 1, 2 Shows. The Yiulians. Unquestionably the greatest acrobatic risley act we ever played. I never heard an act get as much applause since I have been connected with the theatre. 14 Min Full Stage, 2 Shows. Frank Fogerty. Altho this is Mr. Fogerty's second appearance this season he came back with a whole lot of new material and repeated his success of a few months ago. I would rather have Mr. Fogerty than a dozen Clifton Crawfords or Jack Norworths. 15 Min. in 1, 2 Shows. Wm. Courtleigh & Co. Dramatic comedy sketch, "Peaches." Among the best things of the kind we have played this season. In this very difficult position he held his own thoroughly and got 2 or 3 curtain calls at the finish. 32 Min. F. S. 2 Shows. Motion Pictures. O. K.
