Saving...
60 Temple Detroit April 13, 1908. KARTELLI. 12 min. FS. An Al wire act good enough for any house, and particularly good for this position on the bill. DILLON BROS. 15 min. in one. This act made good all the way and can be set down as a positive hit in this particular position. MR. & MRS. ALLISON. 13 min. FS. 4 min. in one. Gave us their same old act but it went as well as formerly. Mr. Allison sings a new song which is received better than the sentimental ballad of last season. McMAHON'S MINSTREL MAIDS. 15 min. in 3. 4 min. FS. There are many new faces in the act this season and it must be said that the act has not deteriorated. It appears to work with the same smoothness as though the Celt had personal supervision. OLLIVOTTI TROUBADOURS. 12 min. in 2. Two men, one playing violin, one playing guitar of sufficient size to permit of bass strings. This act was a tremendous hit at every performance and received three and four curtain calls. E. FREDERICK HAWLEY & FRANCES HAIGHT CO. 23 min. FS. Presenting for the first time in this theater a wild west "thriller called "The Bandit." While I am personally opposed to this style of act for vaudeville I am free to confess that this act is an exception to the rule and one of the best playlets, and one of the best acted playlets it has ever been my good fortune to see. Both Mr. Hawley and Miss Haight are a fine acquisition to vaudeville. The set was the distinct hit of the bill. NAT M. WILLS. 27 min. in one. "The Happy Tramp" gave the Temple audiences a fine, clean happy monologue that was a hit all the way. THE 5 PIROSCOFFIS. 10 min. FS. This foreign juggling act was just suited to close such a bill of general excellence, and there is no question but that the Holy Week audiences will be well pleased with the selection.
