61. 125th Street Theatre Criticism April 20th, 1908 [EATER?] & WILLIAMS: Two men colored. 12 min. in one. Opened rather slow. Their jokes having been told three or four times here lately, but made a big hit with their dancing on their finish. Compelled to do an encore. 3 MEERS: Three men. 16 min. in 3-close in one 5 min. two straight and one eccentric. Eccentric man gets quite a number of laughs at the opening from his work with a prop horse. Good applause and many laughs throughout the entire act with their work on the tight wire. EDW. BLONDELL & CO: one man and two women. Presenting "The Lost Boy". Continual laughter throughout. 25 min. in 3. LEW HAWKINS: 15 min. in one. Blackface comedian. Went well. CHARLENE & CHARLENE: Expert Juggler and Lady Xylophoniste. 19 min. in three. Good stage setting. Man does some good juggling, particularly at the finish of the act with three lighted torches. The lady is an artist on the xylophone. The act made a pronounced hit. FOUR MORTONS: 28 min. -open in one 16 min-12 min. FS Big advance applause. Mr. & Mrs. Mortion kept the audience in continual laughter with their dialogue while Paul Morton won big applause with his dancing. Clara Morton made her entrance playing a saxaphone dressed in Indian costume and sang an Indian song with the other three members of the team playing saxaphones in accompaniment. From this they went into full stage doing their regulation singing and dancing work. Act was a tremendous hit throughout. ETHEL LEVEY: 20 min. in one. Received a big ovation on her entrance and was compelled to respond to eight encores at the close of her act and make a speech. Act finely dressed. VALDARE TROUPE: EXPERT CYCLISTS 14 min. full stage. 6 women and 1 man.
