Saving...
71 Temple Detroit. April 27, 1908. PETCHING BROS. 17 min. FS. Very good comedy-musical act. Starts the show with considerable class. FANNY RICE. 25 min. Has been coming here so often with the same act that it has begun to pall on our audiences. GEO. WHITING & MELNOTTE TWINS. 24 min. in one. One of the best singing and talking acts in one that we have ever had. Both Whiting and the girls are clever, and their material is up-to-date. It is neatly dressed. Its a hit. CLEMENT DeLION. 14 min. in 3. A wonderful exhibition of sleight-of-hand with billiard balls. Interesting and will cause some talk. GRACE CAMERON. 15 min. in one. As this was the first appearance of Miss Cameron in vaudeville in some time it was expected that she would be a little "off" and she was a little "off" but she soon regained her old stride and is now going as well as ever, and perhaps singing a little better than ever. RICHARD GOLDEN & CO. 30 min. FS. In "A Case of Divorce." I am inclined to disagree with some of the "reports" on this act. I am of the opinion that it is a poorly constructed vehicle, although fathered by Clay M. Greene. Its pathetic side is unconvincing, and its comedy side in which Mr. Golden appears to find it necessary to accentuate his old stage business, almost touches the line of caracature. STUART BARNES. 18 min. in one. Barnes surprised us by bringing us almost an entire new act, and in some respects his new material is better than any he has ever given us. He was received with enthusiasm. SIX JOSETTIS. 10 min. FS. An acrobatic and risley act that was out of the ordinary, and better than 90 percent. of the acts of this sort that comes here. The people work with lightning-like rapidity and without misses. KINETOGRAPH. The film "Personal" has been here before and we had an idea that it would do to repeat, but it did not go near as well as on its first presentation.
