Goleman's Dogs, Cats and Pigeons. On at 3.20, 16 min, full stage. This is billed this week as "The animal act unequalled", and I think that the billing fits. It is unique in many ways, and can be featured on any bill. Elinore Sisters. On at 3.43, 23 min, in 1. The same old hit. Never went better here. Houdini. On at 4.08, 35 min, full stage. He is presenting a series of special stunts this, his second and final week, until Friday and Saturday, after he did his bridge jump. Night business was very good, but he did not pack them until Thursday night. He opened today with the biggest Monday afternoon in weeks, and from our advance sales it looks as though we will do a big week. However, I do not think that our patrons want to see Houdini again for three years at least. Kinetograph. On at 4.43, 28 min, due largely to the fact that our regular operator was away. "The Baby Show", a corking good comedy film. "The Champagne Industry", an excellent "interest" film. "Troubles of a Flirt", a fair comic. The La Belles. On at 5.11, 12 min full stage, 3 min close in 1; 15 min in all; 3 shows. Will La Belle, the well known comedy juggler, and a very good one, assisted by his wife, who does not add a whole lot to the act and whose costumes are not particularly attractive. La Belle always makes good here, and has held a spot as late as 2.30 and 8.30, working alone. Jeanre and Ellsworth. On at 5.26, 18 min full stage, 5 min close in 1; 23 min in all; 3 shows. Man and woman playing upon novel musical instruments. The woman also sang a couple of songs at the afternoon show. They introduce a couple of dogs, one playing upon the bells and the other doing a dance. The man and the dogs got by in good shape, the less said about the woman the better. Her solos were eliminated after the first performance. Meeh International Trio. On at 5.49, 10 min, full stage; 3 shows. These three young athletes have improved their act since last here, and it is an excellent offering for the money. O.K. for an opening act for the smaller houses, and is strong enough to close the show in many houses. No cuts, excepting Jeanre and Ellsworth's songs. Comment. A rattling good show, one of the best of the season.
