(2) Ben Welch. On at 3.44, 20 min, in 1. He never fails to score in Boston, so it was no surprise to see him make his usual hit this afternoon. One of the most popular monologists we play. Williams and Walker Glee Club. On at 4.04, 16 min full stage, 5 min close in 1; 21 min in all. Thirteen singers, a conductor and a pianist from Williams and Walker's "Bandanna Land" company. A really great singing act: the selections are good and the harmony is superb. A feature for any house. Better than the Glee Club of two years ago. Wills and Hassan. On at 4.23, 11 min, full stage. An act that deserves rank among the standard acts of today. These men can always be relied upon to give a great acrobatic performance. They always bring one or two new tricks, and can hold a choice spot in any bill. Kinetograph. On at 4.36, 25 min. "The Music Teacher"; fair comic. "Clog Making in Brittany"; a very interesting travel film. "The Amateur Acrobat"; fair comic. Alvin Brothers. On at 5.01, 9 min, full stage. Two young chaps who give an excellent performance on the flying rings. One of them does some comedy which is only passable. Still, at $80 the act is thoroughly O.K. Good enough to open any of the smaller cities, and particularly valuable to the continuous houses. Lowell B. drew. On at 5.10, 12 min, in 1. This young chap has improved quite a bit since his debut as a single entertainer here some six months ago. His impersonations are all good, particularly those of Jack Norworth and George Evans. The one of George Evans, in which he blacks up and wears a costume like Evans, is extremely well done. Frederick. On at 5.22 10 min full stage, 5 min close in 1; 15 min in all. A local magician who is a great filler-in for us, as he gives a good performance and can work anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes. Dynes and Dynes. On at 5.37, 9 min full stage, 5 min close in 1; 14 min in all. This act was booked to fill out the time caused by Kelso and Leighton's cancellation. Two men in a club-swinging act, one in athletic costume, the other made up as a Chinaman. For the close in 1 the young fellow made up as a Chinaman sings a song that shows he has rather a remarkable voice. Great value as a e-a-day. Should make thoroughly good in the smaller 2-a-day houses. Cuts: Jack Wilson Trio. "Whole Damn family". "What the --". Wilson instructed not to lift his dress so high when made up as a wench. Comment. An excellent show, containing a number of real hits.
