Saving...
-2- Laddie Cliff. On at 3.27, 15 minutes in one. This clever youngster has completely captured Boston. I sincerely hope that we can play him two weeks the coming season, for there are very few acts, in one, more valuable than he to this house. XX1 Kelly and Kent. On at 3.42, 15 minutes, full stage, 4 minutes close in one, 19 minutes in all. This clever couple made a most emphatic hit. A real vaudeville act, that it seems a pity will probably be unable to accept bookings the coming season on account of Mrs. Kelly's ill health. Kelly can go with Barrett of Gallagher and Barrett and present the Gallagher and Barrett act. I think he would make a most acceptable man in the act, both personally and professionally, while it would give us an excellent chance to spank Mr. Gallagher most effectually for the unpleasant instances he has caused the last two years. Romany Opera Co. On at 4.01, 48 minutes, full stage. Second week of their special engagement, this week singing gems from "The Bohemian Girl." They gave a very good performance this afternoon. However, I think the company will be more valuable to vaudeville by following the course they did last season and present a number of gems from different operas, that they are sure of making good with, rather than the gems from any single opera. Our experience these two weeks shows that it is almost impossible to get a satisfactory tenor, where the bill is changed every week, for the money the act can afford to pay. XX Kinetograph. On at 4.49, 25 minutes. "In China." A very interesting travel picture. "A Magnetic Removal." One of the best comedy films that we have had recently. Comment. A very good summer show, indeed. The running order for the rest of the week, will be as follows;-- D'Elmar Bros., Pertina, Hamilton and Howlett, (who arrived too late to work this afternoon,) "The Advance Agent," Ethel Batting, Reed Brothers, Charles and Fanny Van, Kelly and Kent, Laddie Cliff, and The Romany Company.
