is skilful and artistic. Their Oriental costumes are brilliant and fine, which helped the act. Good applause after each stunt. Closed well. We shall do a lot of outside advertising with these people this week. SYDNEY DEANE & COMPANY. "Christmas on Blackwell's Island." Same act as presented here before, and just as big a hit. Genuine comedians who know how to get the most out of their material and who sing well. Laughter throughout and a big closing hand. B. A. ROLFE'S, "Fun In A Boarding House." 21 min. Full Stage. Four scenes put on at the same time in the specially constructed interior, the apartment occupied by a ranting "legitimate," another by a soubrette, a third by a pair of song and dance boys, and a fourth the parlor of the house. The fun is fast, and from the very start the mixup between the landlady and her tenants and their eternal fighting one with another makes screaming fun. The audience was in roars throughout the entire act. Rough comedy on the old Harrigan and Hart style, but it is evidently what the people want, judging from the applause. Close was very big. KINETOGRAPH. I. DIEPPE CIRCUIT MOTOR RACE.-1908. A splendid series of pictures and better than the same series of 1907. Will hold it for a second week and advertise it pretty strong, as this is a heavy automobile town. II. DYNAMITE DUEL. A good French comedy film. JUNIPER AND HAYES. 11 min. in one. Colored singers. Man and woman. These people were put on in place of "The Two Ashers." Fair three-a-day coon act. PETE GRIFFIN. Talking and dancing act. His monologue is fairly clever; his buck-and-wing dancing being the interesting part of the act. Could hold a fair spot in the three-a-day section. GENERAL REMARKS. This is an excellent show, and had it not been for the partial downfall of the "Cadet" act, would be pretty nearly the vaudeville ideal that the people want. Business is big and promises to continue so.
