badly with him until there comes to his attic apartments an actor of the New School who wants instructions on the role of "Shylock." The dude rather over-plays his part, but throws strong contrast in favor of the actor of the Old School who tries to teach him the seriousness of the part. Clarke gives extracts from the "Merchant of Venice" with much impressiveness. The young actor concludes that the part is too big for him. Just then a friend comes to the Old actor and brings good tidings that he is cast at "Baileys Theatre" in his favorite role of "Shylock." Instantly he becomes a changed man, leaving the stage with his nose in the air and his old assumption of superiority. Close was very big. GEO. H. WOOD. Comedian. 24 min. in one. Well known on the Circuit. Introduced a lot of new and good stuff which went well. Laughter and applause throughout and closed well. ROSINA CASSELLI. This is a very interesting animal act. 14 min. Full Stage. This is a very interesting animal act. The paraphernalia, such as pedestals, trapeze, miniature horizontal bars, ect., all look showman-like and pleasing to the eye. The midget dogs are all little wonders of training. There is comedy in the act and it will be especially pleasing to the children. The revolving table feat showed great skill. The finish when the dogs get into a miniture automobile and wheel away with a dog chauffeur, is a scream. The act is one of the best of the kind we have ever had played here, and should make good anywhere. MAGGIE CLINE. "The Irish Queen." 18 min. in one. There was no doubt about Maggie Cline's success with the holiday audience. She got a big advanced hand and held the crowd as she has done here before repeatedly. Of course, she closed with her famous, "Throw Him Down Mc Closkey," and got the usual big hand for it. Dragging six or eight stage hands out on the stage making a funny little speech, won the house. GEO. B. RENO. AND CO. "Vaudeville Nonsense. 13 min. Full Stage. This act is certainly rightly names, "Vaudeville Nonsense." It makes a good closing feature because it is one big scream from start to finish, with the tallest comedian in vaudeville and one of the smallest in the most grotesque military attire. The fun is rapid right up to the close of the burlesque Zouave act which was a genuine knock-out. For a holiday crowd, this act could not have been improved. KINETOGRAPH. Flight of the June Bug. An interesting film of a timely event that we could wish for. It ranks with "The Dieppe Circuit," and will be talked out. The Flames. A typical French series of colored fantastical figures. NESSEN AND NESSEN. Club and Hoop Jugglers. 11 min. F. S. Well known on the circuit. Their hoop work and club swinging is quite expert and the act could make a good opener for any house. CONLIN AND STEELE. 18 min. C.D.F. Close in one. This act has much improved since its last appearance her and is now one of the best in the three-a-day; in fact, it could hold a better spot in the early two-aday. Would strongly recommend this act for the smaller houses. as it could hold a better spot and make good. In fact, was too good for its position here, and was in "C" on our bill. GENERAL REMARKS. This is a corking good holiday show from every standpoint. The fun starts off from the start and winds up with a good
