COOK OPERA HOUSE, ROCHESTER. Sept. 7, 1908. TOM JACK TRIO. Two women and man. Very good novelty musical act. was well received. 13 min. FS. ARTHUR RIGBY. Blackface monologue. Audience appeared to like him very much. Had considerable new stuff. 14 min. in one. BESSIE VALDARE. Both herself and girls are very good cycle riders and negotiated this spot in excellent manner. 12 min. FS. BARRY & WOLFORD. Very good talking and singing act, both possessing agreeable voices. Went very well. 15 min. in one. "THE VILLAGE QUEEN." This act is also known as Country Boys and Girls. It came to us in bad shape. Claimed the scenery was stolen in Syracuse, and when they got here they found their wardrobe trunk missing. In its present shape it won't do. 20 min. FS. FRANK NELSON & CO. Presenting for the first time here the comedy playlet "Thirty Dollars." This is a rather light vehicle for such a talented fellow as Nelson, and one less strong in the part of the tout would not last with the sketch. Nelson gives a striking characterization of an unsympathetic role. 22 min. FS. EDITH HELENA. Miss Helena is in excellent voice, and while the audiences here do not take to her top notes and gurgling trills she no doubt would make good with musically inclined people. 11 min. in one. HOWARD'S MUSICAL PONIES & COMEDY DOGS. This is an excellent horse and dog act and closed our show in excellent shape. 16 min. FS.
