very well, particularly with their parodies, receiving good applause and making a good close. HOWARD AND NORTH. 20 min. in one. "Back in Wellington." While this act is good, indeed very good, from a standpoint of character humor, and the names are popular, nevertheless, it did not make the impression that the former act did nor have they by any means so strong a finish. However, they held their own, although I am sure that many would have preferred the old act. It is a case of expecting much and not realizing. GLOBE OF DEATH. 7 min. F. S. This is the second appearance of this act in Philadelphia and received a rousing welcome. As a closing act it certainly is a thriller. Will be held a second week. KINETOGRAPH. Views in Stockholm. II. Scenes in China. III. Hair Dressing in Brittany. IV. Military Life in Russia. These are good travel films, the comedy films this week being not of the kind that we would care to put on. This is a great regret, as we always like to close the show with a comedy film, and we had to hold the last one over for two weeks. We tried out four reels and there was not one acceptable comedy in the series. For that reason our Kinetograph is not up to the standard this week. JUGGLING BARRETTS. 11 min. F.S. Two men, both working eccentric, one a "Rube" and the other Bell-Boy. Do some of the ordinary juggling stunts with rubber balls and Indian Clubs, but their best work is with a multitude of straw hats, which they throw all over the stage and juggle very cleverly. Makes a good opening act. Good applause. HARLOWE & KING. Comedy Singing and Talking. 9 min. F.S. Man and woman in a singing and talking act, the woman being dressed in a Sheath Gown with an exaggerated Merry Widow hat. good three-a-day act, the singing being much better than the conversational work and getting a good spot. "The "Merry Widow" Dance at the finish took well. TWO DELTONS. Comedy Acrobats. 11 min. in one. This is a good strong-man act of the head and hand balancing order. Are worthy of a good spot. Applause fair. GENERAL REMARKS. This is the hardest show to play we have had in the house for some time. It takes at least eight minutes each to set for Thos. Shea, for "The Patriot" and for "Globe of Death." Howard and North are now not doing an act in one by any manner of means, as they carry two drops, the back drop being set in two. As Shea has to be set right down to one, there was a three-minute wait going from "The Patriot" to Howard and North, and a three-minute wait going from Howard and North to Shea. Leonie Pam, by her fall-down, left a bad spot which Billy Beard will have to fill, although he does not really belong there. With an entire re-arrangement, caused by the length of time taken to make the three important sets and the fall-down of Leonie Pam, the show should play better.
