Saving...
Week of Oct. 5th, 1908. N. S. HASTINGS. CLEVELAND? O. JOE COOK AND BROTHER. Open special 3 1/2, close in 1. Time 14. The boy is a very good juggler and would get by further up the bill. Comedy fair. There is a lot of unnecessary smoke at the close that fills the auditorium with a stench. FOUR MINUTE WAIT. DELVIN-ELLWOOD CO. Man and woman. C. D. F. Time, 17. A consistently pleasing comedy sketch with some very good laughs. Frequent applause. COLLINS & BROWN. In 1. 2 men. Time, 17. German comedy, singing and talking. For the first ten minutes the work is very bad consisting of musty jokes. Toward the end things liven up a bit, and they got away with big applause at the close Monday afternoon. EARLE REYNOLDS and NELLIE DONEGAN. F.S., woods, Time 11. A series of difficult, graceful and attractive "dances" on roller skates. Pretty costumes. Went very strongly. The DIXIE SERENADERS. (Coons) 4 men, 2 women. Time 22. Open F.S. woods, close in one. The act is thoroughly enjoyable. Work artistic, quiet and free from usual "coon shouting". The opening is a Southern scene with songs and dances. The closing is a miniature minstrel show. Very good singers and soft shoe dancers. CHARLOTTE PARRY & CO. Miss Parry and 2 men. C.D.F. Time, 16. Presenting "The Comstock Mystery." Although the third time here, the act went well. Miss Parry's wonderful changes getting a good hand at each entrance. MISS PAULINE HALL. In 1. Time, 11. Stunning in appearance, clothes and diamonds brilliant and glittering,-all she needs is the voice. Her present one slightly out of repair. THE NOVELLOS. F.S. Time, 12. Elephants, dogs, ponies and human acrobats. This is a great circus feature and glues the people in their seats. Their work is new and makes a flash. The East Indian costumes fill out a very attractive stage picture. The best closer we have played for a long time. KINETOGRAPH.
