REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of OCTOBER [19?th], 1908. Charles [Lovenberg?], Mgr. This show plays very well indeed and I think it will give very good satisfaction. LA [Pose?] & La [Gusta?] Novelty wire act. Alright for 3 shows or smaller 2-a-day houses. 10 Min. F. S. 3 shows. Kelly & Hale Won't do. Conlin & Steele A little musical and singing sketch. Alright in the 3-a-day section. 18 Min. open 3, close in one. 3 shows. Gartelle Bros. Comedy [sketers?]. Corking good act. Won many laughs from audience. 11 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Kathryn Miley Singing comedienne. Not good for this house. [18?] Min. in One, 2 shows, should be 3 shows. Les Silvas Ladder adt of which we cannot get the full value in this house because of the lack of heighth and considerable stuff hanging in the flies. However we know it is a very fine act. 18 Min. F. S. [2?] shows. J. Warren Keane Magician, and a very clever one. Held this spot very satisfactorily. 18 Min. in One, 3 shows. The Gainsboro Girl A very pretty singing act but should not be depended upon as a headline feature. 17 Min. F.S. 2 shows. Felix Adler.........Dialectician. Mr. Adler has some pretty good songs and his dialects are very good indeed. He is a little shy on stage management but that, I think, can be remedied and I shall try to help him out while he is here this week. His appearance is favorable, to my surprise, as I expected him to look like a tramp after some of the reports I had read. 10 Min. in One, 2 shows. E. F. Hawler & Co. In "The Bandit". One of the best and most novel dramatic sketches we ever played. [28?] Min. F. S., 2 shows. John J. Hayes Marathon Runner. Altho Mr. Hayes had considerable advance advertising, it did not appear to me that he drew any additional business today excepting in the second balcony. We are getting up some business through the Y. M. C. A. and two cross-country runs for the boys and with all that we may be able to work up some interest but I don't think he is a real drawing card, the trouble being that the interest in him is centered in too small a circle, namely in boys and athletes, of which there are not sufficient in this and most of the smaller cities. 17 Min. open in One, close full stage. 2 shows. Quinn & Mitchell Comedy talking act, "The Land Agent". A very good act indeed. Scored big in a stiff place. 20 Min. in One, 2 shows. Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Crane & Co. In "Pixley's Prodigal Parents". I can only repeat what was said of this act in other cities, that it is one of the best. 27 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Motion Pictures O.K.
