GRAND OPERA HOUSE, PITTSBURG, PA., OCT. 19th, 08.
MORRISEY & AYER-10 min. 3 shows, olio. Two men-piano playing and singing. This act is above the average three a day and I think will get by at about 8:15 in the two a day houses.
KAISER AND HIS PERFORMING FOX TERRIERS. 3 shows. 16 minutes, wood. A very clever dog act with a little work on the bars, introduced by Mr. Kaiser. Good enough for eight o'clock on any bill.
MYRTLE C. BYRNE & CO.-Shooting act- 15 minutes. Very nice stage setting and not a great shooting act but worth the money they are getting.
EMMA LOSEE- Feminine Baritone. 3 shows, 9 minutes. This young lady does very well and I feel sure that after she has had a little more experience that she will be much above the ordinary. We have her on at 8:15, a place we seldom give to the three a day acts, and she is going very well.
JAS. & SADIE LEONARD In a travesty-"When Caesar sees Her". Special set, full stage, 18 minutes. This act is on the order of Jules and Ella Garrison but not nearly so good as the original Garrison act.
WOOD BROTHERS-Flying ring act. 10 minutes, wood. A very good act-good enough for any place on the bill.
THE WORTHLEYS-Man and woman in two-special drop. Singing and dancing skit-"On the Beach". A very fair act not later than 8:30.
AGNES SCOTT & HORACE WRIGHT in "The Wall Between". Special, 22 min. One of the best things we have played. The acting of Miss Scott is as good as any we have ever had in our house, while the singing of Mr. Wright was very good-also the selection of songs.
NIBLO'S BIRDS-10 minutes, olio. This is surely a novelty and causes considerable talk. However, $200 would be a very good price for the act.
THE NAKED TRUTH- Special, 40 minutes. Mr. Davenport is a very clever performer and his work in this act I think is perfect. The act went big with us but there is plenty of room for improvement.
CHARLEY CASE- 15 minutes, olio. Charley still talks about his father and I think the stories he tells on his father now are going better than any of his previous visits. He is a great big hit in a hard place.
EIGHT MADCAPS-Palace. 11 minutes. While this is a good act, I do not think it as good as it has been touted. There is surely nothing startling about it.
