REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF OCTOBER 26th, 1908. Charles Lovenberg, Manager. This is the best show we have ever played. I never expect to play a more satisfactory one. It contains a large element of what my friend Lothrop calls "class". With one exception all the acts made big hits. Frank Parker & Co. Comedy juggling act which I didn't get a chance to see McLain Sisters This is the only act on the bill that doesn't belong, being decidedly out of the picture. They are alright in the 3-a-day section of the average show, but I think they get too much money. 9 Min. in One, 3 shows The Baliots Man and woman in a very good act of acrobatics, strong dental work and heavy lifting. A mighty good act, capable of holding a much better spot. Should be booked everywhere. 12 Min. F. S. 3 shows. Harry Breen Singing comedian. Met with his usual success. 12 Min. in One, 3 shows. Bessie Valdare Troupe Well-known troupe of lady cyclists, which lived up to its reputation. 13 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Patsy Doyle Talking comedian. The same hit as last season. 15 Min. in One, 2 shows. Foster & Foster Well-known act os singing, talking and piano playing, made their usual hit. 20 Min. open F. S., close in One, 2 shows. LaVeen, Cross & Co. In a most effective spectacular acrobatic act, "Roman Sports and Pastimes", including hand-balncing. Act is much enhanced by some special scenic effects and some good comedy. 22 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Tuscany Troubadours As this is my own act, modesty forbids my saying anything other than that it is the best singing act in the business. Pleased to follow Mr. Lothrop's example and congratulate myself. Special scenery. 26 Min. open in One, close in two. 2 shows. Emmet DeVoy & Co. In a very novel comedy sketch, "In Dreamland", which is alright to play once for its novelty. 27 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Smith & Campbell Held their own as usual. 20 Min. in One, 2 shows. At the Country Club Very elaborate, handsomely staged act, which made a decided hit in this very difficult position. An act which no house that can afford to play it should overlook. 30 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Pictures O. K.
