196 Report on Providence Show, Week of November 2nd, 1908. Chas. Lovenburg, Manager. The show this week is considerable of a fall-down and especially bad coming after last week's excellent bill. Only three or four of the acts made good at all. James A. Welch & Co. A very, very sad affair. Description and time not worth while. Will & May Reno. Good only as a time filler in the three-a-day section. Jessica [Lowers?] and Ada Mae Mitchell Two women in a singing and talking act, acceptable in the 33-a-day section. 18 Min. in One, [3?] shows. Two [Deltons?] Hand-to-hand balancers. Good 3-a-day act; all right for the smaller 2-a-day houses. 10 Min. F. S. [3?] shows. May Mickey A good looking, well dressed young woman, who sang three songs inoffensively. Could only be considered from the three-a-day standpoint or for the smaller two-a-day houses. 11 Min. in One, 2 shows. Emile Subers Blackface comedian. Mr. Subers did only fairly well. Hardly worth the salary he is getting. 12 Min. in One, 2 shows. James and [Sadie?] Leonard and Richard Anderson In "When Caesar Sees Her". The best tragedy [illegible] we have ever had. [20?] Min. F. S. 2 shows. Melville Ellis Very much as I anticipated, this being Mr. Ellis' first appearance here, he was a decided frost and I can see no reason for his success anywhere else. 12 Min. in One, 2 shows. Rosina Casselli's Dogs Best dog act I have seen in many a day. A great novelty that made a decided hit. 15 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Coakley & McBride When this act was booked last summer it was with the positive understanding that they would give us all new material. As a matter of fact they have given us none whatever. For that reason the act has no value in this house after three years repetition of the same stuff. 20 Min. in One, 2 shows. John C. Rise and Sally Cohen In "The Kleptomaniacs". This act did not go with the screams that it used to, but I attributed that somewhat to the fact that the audience was bored by a great deal of what preceded this act. 25 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Sydney [Deane?] & Co. In "Christmas on the Island". This act has also been seen too much to have any value, altho it held this spot in good shape. 18 Min. in One and a half. 2 shows. Artois Brothers Comedy bar act. A very fine offering. 10 Min. F.S. 2 shows. Motion Pictures O. K.
