REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF NOVEMBER [30?]TH, 1908. Charles [Levenberg?], Manager. The bill this week is a good one, but by no means the best we have had. It may play up better later, but it dragged considerably this afternoon. Billy Blackburn A young woman, assisted by a little girl, in southern stories and negro songs. Changes to blackface in view of the audience, making up as an old Southern [mammy?]. Gets by all right in the three-a-day section. 12 Min. in One, 3 shows. Trainor & Dale Man and woman,, comedy sketch, singing and dancing. This is a very good 3-a-day act. Could get by as an opener in the smaller 2-a-day houses. [15?] Min. open F.s. close in One, 3 shows. Arizona Troupe Two men and two women in a combination of acrobatic work, juggling (both hand and feet) dancing and [contortion?]. A lively act, fitted to open the show in any of the two-a-day houses and good for an early two-a-day spot in any of the continuous houses. 13 Min. F. S. 3 shows. [Hearn?] & [Nettor?] Two men, straight dancing act. Very good in its class. 9 Min. F. S. 3 shows [Nothwell?] Browne & Co. This something of a novelty and only valuable for that reason. I do not believe the audience cared a great deal about it, but beccause it is unusual I think it worth playing once at about $200. [16?] Min. F. S. 2 shows. Lou Anger "The German Military Man". In a very soft spot, Mr. Anger failed to create a riot. About three hearty laughs and a few scattered mild snickers about let him cut At about half his salary, he would be all right. [10?] Min. in One, 2 shows, should be 3 shows. Banks, Broaseale Duo Two young ladies in a very pretty instrumental act, resembling somewhat the Colonial Septette. They were heartily received by the audience. 12 Min. opening in Two and closing in One. 2 shows. Harry Tighe's Collegians In "Books". The hit of the show. 22 Min. F. S. 2 shows Harry Cilfoil In his same old act, Baron Sands. I was under the impression that he had a lot of new material. In fact, some of the reports said so. I failed to discover anything new in the act whatever. However, he went well here, as he always does. 18 Min. in One, 2 shows. Countess Rossi and Fred Paula In their well-known singing act, which was well received 12 Min. in One, 3 shows. Bernardi Lightning charge artist. I don't know whether this man is going to be worth while for us, or not. He was well applauded in spots, but it was not a big hit. It may be the sort of an act that people will talk about and so draw business. That remains to be seen. [22?] Min. F. S. 2 shows. Dillon Brothers One of them [now?]. Hardly think the act up to the old standard. 16 Min. in One, 2 shows. St. Onge Trio Fairly good bicycle act, the poorest member of which is Mr. St. Onge who marred the act with some very bad comedy. 17 Min. F. S. 2 shows. Pictures O. K.
