Saving...
CLEVELAND, OHIO. Ned S. Hastings. Dec, 21st, 1908. MYERS & ROSA. Man and woman. F.S., woods. Time, 8. Lasso throwing and general "rope" stunts. Tying knots by sudden jerks, interesting and got big applause. Very good act. BURT & BERTHA GRANT. In 1. Time, 16. (Coons.) Neat and clean looking. Their songs and comedy, not good. They make good with their dancing, at close, which is full of new steps. JOE MAXWELL & CO. Special in 4. Five men, 6 girls. "A Night In A Police Station." A singing act set very cleverly in a justice court room. There is plenty of ginger, the voices are good, and the comedy scores. Time, 18. MULLEN & CORELLI. 2 men. Time 12. Wonderful eccentric and "straight" tumbling. These men have more new material tha[n] I have seen for a long time with any act. Comedy very good. A great big hit. PICCOLO MIDGETS. 4 midgets. Time 13. Open in 1, close F.S. Woods. Too well known to need description. As good as ever, and the same big hit. MISS CLAIRE ROMAINE. In 1. Time 21. Appears in three different boy costumes with songs, which she tried to get the audience to sing, without success, in spite of her hard work. The act made fairly good at the Monday matinee, although I was a little disappointed, after having read very flattering notices from other places about the act. Henry-KEANE & BRISCOE-Olive. C.D.F. Time 17. Offering "A Trial Marriage." This is an up-to-date and farcical treatment of an experiment in matrimony. The title sounds a trifle suggestive, but the sketch is free from objection, and sparkles with bright lines and situations. Went strong. LADDIE CLIFF. In 1. Time 16. Grotesque dancing and great comedy songs. The hit of the show. A riot of applause. Some new material since his last visit. Rosina Caselli's Dogs. Time 12. A dozen dogs, M'lle Caselli & maid, (on stage.) Gets far away, for the most part, for all other dog acts. Some of the tricks in trapeze work and on bars are almost unbelievable and took the audience by storm. One of the pleasing features about the act is that there is no "stalling", but everything runs neatly. A splendid closing feature that holds the people well. THE KINETOGRAPH.
