CLEVELAND, O. NED S. HASTINGS DEC. 7, 1908. THE PICQUAYS. Man and woman. Time 9. Open C.D.F, close in 1. Hand to hand balancing, contortion, and acrobatics. Very neat and attractive opener. Well dressed. Frequent applause after each stunt. ANNA FRANSCH & CO. 2 women, 1 man. C.D. plain. Time 20. Presenting "The Linguistic Parrot". A new comedy sketch using a ventriloquial trick to help two stranded show girls out of trouble. The act is not yet worked up to its possibilities, but got frequent laughs. VAN CAMP. Man with pig. Time 18. In 1. First part clever and new slight of hand well done. Last part screaming comedy with baby pig. McCONNELL & SIMPSON. 2 men, 1 woman. Offering "A Stormy Hour." Miss McConnell's interpolated singing made a hit. Broad comedy sketch with plenty of "rough house" action littering up the stage with clothing. Went very well with plenty of laughs. 5 MINUTES OF PICTURES. SIX MUSICAL CUTTYS. 3 men, 3 women. Time 20. Open palace in 5, close in 1. xylophone sextette. 'Cello and violin solo. Vocal solo. and "brass" finale in imitation of "Sousa's Band." Everything excellent. The hit of the show. There is an air of refinement and [?] about the work that enriched the music. M'LLE ZELIE de LUSSAN. C.D.F. Husband at piano plays accompaniments. Lussan sings a series of sensible although classical numbers that the people understand and appreciate. Very artistic. Three curtains. Time, 17. JACK WILSON TRIO. 2 men (one comedy), 1 woman. Time 20. In 1. Characteristic "coon" singing, talking and dancing. Fast and snappy. Big hand. LES SILVAS. F.S. Man and boy. Portugese firemen. The man climb[s] a free ladder, and the boy performs a number of interesting stunts standing on the man's shoulder, such as head-to head balancing, juggling and hand balancing. The method of presentation is novel and held the attention of the audience well. Fair applause at close. Time 10. THE KINETOGRAPH.
