Report on Columbus Show week Dec. 14th. -- 08.   W. W. Prosser.
BETH STONE: "A Daint[y] Topsy Turvy Toe Dancer"-- This young woman opens with a song which just got by and that was all. -- She then does a series of dances which are of the toe-acrobatic order. This part of the work met with mild approval. The act is fair but that is all. -- 8 minutes C. D. F.
THE LELLIOTTS: Two men and a woman in a musical act the comedy element of which caught on moderately well. -- They seem to be pretty good musicians and won some applause but nothing big. -- The finish was weak. -- The best part of the act gained a fair measure of success. -- Could hardly be termed a distinct hit and yet it was not bad. Would class same judging from reception as merely fair. 27 minutes C. D. F.
Mullen & Correlli: Well known comedy acrobatic act that got along very well and whose finish was very good. -- Do about the same stuff as usual. 15 minutes in one.
KIRSTEN-MARIETTA TROUPE: Three women and one man in a novel strong act. Most of their tricks are new and the way of presenting same quite unique. -- They were given several good hands throughout the act and finished strong. 9 minutes palace. in 4.
AVERY & HART: Such a hit that they made the rest of the show look very poor. -- While they did not do any new stuff they scored with every point and must be given the credit of headlining the bill without any trouble. 25 minutes street in one.
KARNO'S NIGHT IN MUSIC HALL: There were some laughs during the presentation but nothing like one would expect from an act with its reputation. -- They certainly worked hard but like every English act that we have had here their efforts were in the main in vain. -- At the finish there was not the slightest sign of approval. -- Seemed like a funeral almost. -- I doubt whether the audience really knew what it was all about. -- Perhaps those coming in for the remainder of the week will "Get wise" at least I hope so. 19 minutes special set.
