Report on Columbus Show for week of Mch. 15th, 1909. W. W. Prosser. THE SANETTOS: Oriental jugglers, three men. A very good opening act. Applause scattered throughout, the finish fairly strong. Nothing new about their work but it all went very well. 14 minutes, garden in 5. LEW WELLS: Monologist and saxophonist. His first routine of talk fell with a thud but he waked them up with the saxophone, on which instrument he is an exceptionally capable player, and from then on he had everything coming his way nicely. After the introduction of the instrument referred to his talk went better and he finished strong. Was compelled to respond several times and they hung to him until the last minute. 20 minutes, oleo in one. HOMAN'S "A NIGHT WITH THE POETS": Well known act and one that scored heavily throughout. Nicely presented. It went big. Special set in 4. 30 minutes. PICTURE: To kill wait, 9 minutes. SAM CURTIS & CO.: In "A Session At School". Two men, three women in the act. The singing went big, comedy fairly well, and the talk hardly at all. They consumde a lot of time in this act unnecessarily with talk that could be just as well eliminated. The singing and of the act is O. K. and went as well as could be expected. 28 minutes, kitchen in 3, close in one. RYAN & RICHFIELD: "Mag Haggerty's Reception" sketch. This well known act won a lot of good laughs and seemed to be appreciated by the entire house. Not a particle of fault to find. Fancy in 3, 27 minutes. COOPER & ROBINSON: Well known colored act which went well from beginning to end. 16 minutes, oleo in one. PISSIUTTIS: Gladiators on horseback. This act did not go nearly as well as I expected, although it was by no means a failure. Some of their stunts won applause and some of them fell flat. Special in 5, 7 minutes. MOVING PICTURES: O. K. NOTE: I think this show will run better in the following order: The Zanettos, Lew Wells, Sam Curtis & Co., Ryan & Richfield, "Night With The Poets", Cooper & Robinson, Pissiuttis; and this is the way it will be given to-night.
