REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 26, 1910.
Charles Lovenberg, Manager.
The show is not a great one by any means, though it is not expensive and if we have a warm wave, we are likely to be as well off as if we had a bigger show. The acts as a whole go individually pretty well, but as a whole the bill lacks strength.
DUFF & WALSH
Dancers. A very good act of its kind. 11 Min. in One.
ERNEST CARR & CO
In a sketch called "The Grafter". This is an exceedingly good sketch and Mr. Carr plays his part well. His support is atrocious. In spite of that however, the act got over and with two good people with him, it would be an act good enough to play and feature almost anywhere. 20 Min. F.S.
EMILE SUBERS
Monologuist. Fell down sadly. 12 Min. in One.
RICE, SULLY & SCOTT
Comedy bar act. Rather good, but not nearly in the class with the Three Ernests. 7 Min. F. S.
HENRY CLIVE
Well-known fake magician, who did as well as usual. 13 Min. in One.
CHAS. GILL & CO.
In "The Devil, the Servant and the Man". A good novel sketch, spoiled by bad acting. It is a toss up whether Mr. Gill or his support is the worse. 21 Min. F. S.
MILLER & LYLE
Blackface comedians, brought in from Pawtucket to replace Willette Whitaker, whose voice failed her. These boys came pretty near making the hit of the show. They have an unusual act, exceedingly funny and they should be booked up quickly. 12 Min. in One.
MAURICIA MORICHINI
Operatic Vocalist. Probably the best voice we ever had in the house. Very well liked. 15 Min. in Two. Can work in One.
EMPIRE COMEDY FOUR
Well-known act that went pretty well, but I don't believe I care to play them again. 20 Min. in One
SCHIAVONI TROUPE
Comedy Acrobats. One girl in the act is a wonder for feats of strength particularly. Other than that the act is only fair. 11 Min. F.S.
