REPORT OF B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE, CINCINNATI, O. Week of May 11, 1913. John F. Royal. KINETOPHONE: Very interesting. "The German Singing Society" went good in this German town. THREE ARTHURS: 9 min. F. S. Garden. Two girls and a man in a neat bicycle act. Went over very nicely for an opener. Open Until May 26th. Then PITTSBURG. ETHEL MC DONOUGH: 15 min. in one, olio. Singing comedienne. Attractive girl, with four songs, two changes. Despite old material in songs, she went over well, and for early appearance, got good closing. OPEN. NEW YORK. MERRILL & OTTO: 32 min. in one. Man and woman in singing and talking act. Considering the small house, caused by street car strike, their talk did not go as well as it should have; however, they proved very popular, and their finishing dance and comedy line got very strong closing. Not as big as last visit. DETROIT. GILLETTE'S ANIMALS: 12 min. F. S. Trained dogs and monkeys. Out of the ordinary animal act, and the monkey bowling alley scene was a scream. ATLANTA, GA. HOPKINS AXTELLE & CO.: 13 min., open in one and close in 1 1/2; special set. Man and woman in comedy singing, dancing and talking skit. Street care scene in one proved very humorous, and the closing scene of the Pullman sleeper went big. One of the best laughing acts on the bill. NEW YORK. TRULY SHATTUCK: 13 min. in one. Assisted by a piano player. Got a very nice reception, and went very well. Her piano player lacks appearance, and detracts from the act. The closing was very enthusiastic and spontaneous. NEW YORK. JULIA NASH: 16 min. L. F. in 3. Two women and a man in comedy sketch entitled "Her First Case", telling of girl who beat a claim agent. Hard spot after so much talk, but got some good laughs and finished well. BOSTON. BEN DEELY & CO.: 13 min. Open in 1, then to 1 1/2, closing in one; special drop. Two men and a woman in comedy act. A big scream. Deely's close of Turkey trot dance with dummy is a riot. LOUISVILLE. EQUILI BROS.: 10 min. F. S. Palace. Two wonderful equilibrists. Remarkable. Should be in middle of show. One of those acts that make people go back to their seats after once attempting to leave. Best ever seen here. MACON, GA. CUTS: Ben Deely: "Hell of a wallop".
