HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL N.J. WEEK OCT. 6, 1913. Jos. R. Smith. THE CLARK-RAZZILLIAN TRIO--- Two men and a woman who do some new and old stunts on the trapeze and flying rings. Their costumes are very pretty and their tricks are done neatly. Very good opening act. F.S. 9 min. CARRIE REYNOLDS---- She sings four songs with a new costume for each number. she sings fairly well and gets everything over her speech being unusually clear even on the high notes. The act went very fair. In one 14 min. JORDAN AND DOHERTY--- Man and a woman, singers and dancers. The man is a clever eccentric dancer. The woman gives a bit of monologue in addition to a dance and some songs. She also makes three costume changes. The hit of the act is Jordan' eccentric dance. The act went very well. In one 14 min. "HOW HOFMEISTER DID IT" Presented by Joseph Hart with a cast of two women and three men. Scene interior of a modest flat. The story is clearly told and in a manner that brings many laughs at all times. Every situation is nicely worked up with a view to getting the laughs. The story concerns the daughter of an old German couple who is in love with a young man. He wants her to marry him and go west, but she refuses fearing to leave her old folks who, unknown to the girl are wondering why the fellow don't marry their daughter. Finally the young man tells the Girl's father. He is surprised, but proceeds to carry out a scheme to make the girl marry the young fellow. The old man dramatically pulls down an old sword he once carried in the German army and threatens to kill the young man for trifling with his daughter. He accuses the young fellow of everything and arouses the girl who defends her lover. The old man then orders them from the house and just as they are about to leave the old man relents as it happens to be his daughter's birthday. He has them sign an agreement however that they will marry the next day and the act concludes with them all happy once more showing birthday gifts on the girl. Every line brings a laugh. The act is far better than Dinklespiel's Christmas". It went very good. special set 29 min. INTERMISSION---- KELLY AND HARRISON----Two men, one straight and one Rube who have a very funny dialogue and several good songs. Their closing song about patent medicine testimonials was the hit of the act. It went very well. In one 15 min. "OVER THE GARDEN WALL" Presented by Joseph Hart with a cast of seventeen girls and two men. There are three scenes in the act, all a rose Garden at different times in the day. The girls make four costume changes and the men two. It is a miniature musical comedy with much singing, dancing and some dialogue. The costumes are very pretty and the scenic effects also good. The act went very fair. Special scenery, time of act 38 min. HUDSONGRAPH--- O.K.
