15 Report of the PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 29, 1902. Show as a whole very satisfactory. We were handicapped some by the failure of Lawrence Crane to make his appearance, and we have not heard from him up to this time, 5:30. There is possibly a preponderance of music in the bill, but as it is all good, we can stand it. Stereopticon. Unusually good collection of pictures. Clifford & Hall. 3 shows 15 min. A very ordinary act but from a three a day standpoint and their salary, they made good openers. Open full stage, close in one. Couture & Devoe. Acrobatic Commedians. An exceptionally good three a day act. 10 min. in two, Lawrence Crane. Failed to appear. J. A. Libbey & K. Trayer. Singing sketch. Went very well indeed. Their operatic work in the make up of Buffalo Bill made quite a hit. 20 min. 2 shows close in one. Swan & O'Day. Blackface comedians. and Dancers. Another act, from a three a day standpoint, must be classed as exceptional. 18 min. in one, 3 shows. Al. Bellman & Lottie Moore. IN the same act they have usually done, and which didn't go as well today as on previous occasions. I think that they were handicapped by following Libbey & Trayer. 2 shows, 22 min. full stage. May Evans. Whistler and Mimic. Very good 3 a day act. 8 min. in one. The Four Cuttys. Instrumentalists and singers. Went very strong with the audience but they will not bear comparison with the Willis Family, however it must be classed as a very good act. 20 min. close in one. Eva Mudge. Character changes. The changes were made with remarkable rapidity and caused wonderment with the audience but her singing and other work didn't go very strong until she sang Bill Bailey, in which she made a big hit. 15 min. clossing in one. Eugene O'Rourke & Co. In "Parlor A". One of the most laughable affairs we have had. Endorse the Boston opinion. 2 shows, 22 min., full stage. Jess Dandy. Went stronger than he ever did before in a most difficult place in the bill. 2 shows, 14 min in one. DeCourcey Brothers. Acrobats. Fully as strong as ever. 8 min. in two. 2 shows. Biograph. O.K.
