82 NEW YORK SHOW: WEEK DECEMBER 1st: STEREOPTICON:- Usual collection of views; 7 minutes in one. HR-3, WONDERFUL BUSCH:- Aerial contortionist: Very fair act of this kind, only it is rather short. 8 minutes; full stage. NH-3, O'ROURKE & BURNETTE:- Man and woman in a clever dancing act that they have always done here, but it goes well. 11 minutes; full stage; can close if one if necessary. GYH-3, MORRISSEY & RICH:- Man and woman in their old talking specialty. They have a new act but as I needed some time in one they did the old one, and it went quite well. 15 minutes, in one. ER-3, THE LASKYS:- Man and woman in a musical act. They use nothing but cornets, bugles and post-horns, and introduce a little singing. The singing does not amount to very much, but there is an element of novelty in the musical portion and they make three changes of costume. Good act throughout. 15 minutes, full stage, close in one. GRR-3, ROSSEAU BROS:- Acrobats: This is one of the best small acrobatic acts we play. They did some remarkable work and always go strong in this house. 8 minutes; full stage. GGR-2, BAKER & LYNN:- Man and woman in an eccentric comedy sketch untitled "The Electric Boy". This is a nonsensical act, but the fellow is quite clever in the kid character, which gets lots of laughs and mad a good-sized hit. 20 minutes, full stage. GHR-2, THE SALAMBOS:- Man and woman in an act introducing experiments with electricity. It is about the same sort of an act that they did in this country about five years ago, but is valuable because it is a novelty. They introduce several new effects in it and the audience was deeply interested from start to finish. 23 minutes, full stage. SR-3, LOUIS GRANT:- Whistling solos: This fellow always makes a hit in this house, and as it is really the only act of its kind that we play, the audience never seem to get tired of him. 9 ,minutes in one. YAR-2, HARMONY FOUR:- Four men in a comedy musical and singing act. The comedy is not so very apparent, although the audience seem to be of a different opinion, for they certainly got many laughs this afternoon, and held the stage to the entire satisfaction of the audience for 27 minutes; open full stage; close in one. MRR-2, MOUNG TOON & MOUNG CHET:- Another novelty act and a good one. Two Burmese men introducing some really remarkable juggling work. They use first a bamboo ball and close with glass ones. The latter part of their act is simply marvelous. I do not think the audience fully appreciates the difficulty of it but they held them to the finish of the act and got a good strong round of of applause at the end. 12 minutes; full stage. SR-3, HARRY BROWN:- I agree with Boston that this fellow is about as good a singer of coon songs as there is in the country, in fact, he went pretty nearly as strong this afternoon as Ernest Hogan. 12 mins. in one. YYH-2. LEWIS, McCORD & CO:- In and act entitled "Her Last Rehearsal". This act is presented by two men and a woman, and is given on a bare stage with the walls showing, also the props and furniture. It is supposed to be a rehearsal conducted by an erratic stage manager, and the situations are really funny, all three of the people are clever and the act went with howls of laughter. 30 minutes; full stage. YYH-2, LEE SULLY:- Vocalist and comedian, working in white face. He went very strong this afternoon, and held up the interest at the last end of the bill in good shape. My first impression was, that I was not going to like him in white face, but he seemed to go just as strong as he ever did in black, and I am going to let him continue that way, at least until I look him over again. 15 minutes, in one. MRR22, MARTINETTI TROUPE:- Three men and a woman in acrobatic work. I agree with Boston that it is not now a big act, still they did some very good work and evidently pleased. 10 minutes; full stage. KR-3, BIOGRAPH:- A rather rocky exhibition of views this week, and will probably be bolstered up a little to-morrow. 10 minutes in one. S. K. HODGDON.
