REPORT ON PROV. SHOW, KEITH'S THEATRE, PROV. DEC. 8, 1902 (CHAS. LOVENBERG)
Decided improvement over last weeks bill. The show didn't go with any great hurrah, but I attribute it to the cold audience rather than the show, and am inclined to believe this program will be very satisfactory.
Stereopticon. As usual.
Willie Western. Parodies, and imitation of Joe Welch. Very weak act. 11 min. in one, 3 shows.
Fyne & Dandy. Acrobatic comedy act. While not at all alarming, the act may be classed as good from the three a day standpoint but from no other. 10 min. full stage, 3 shows.
O'Rourke and Burnette singing and clog dancing act. Their work is fairly good but the act made a hit this afternoon on the strength of the introduction of their little boy, who is about seven years old, in the act. He is very precocious and pleased the audience highly. For their work alone they received very little applause. Whole act including the little boy, 18 min. in one, 3 shows.
Mr. & Mrs. Stuart Darrow. Pictures with sand, smoke and shadows. This is a very nice little act, and a novelty as we rarely get anything of this kind. Went very well with the audience. 12 min. full stage, 3 shows.
Susie Fisher. Female baritone. Her voice is quite remarkable but not pleasing, and her appearance is very bad. Act may be classed as fair. 10 min. in one, 3 shows.
The De Forrests. Whirlwind dancers. I hardly consider the act they are now doing as good as their old one. They attempt a lot of comedy which does not go. 20 min. full stage, can close in one. 2 shows.
Will Murphy and Blanche Nichols. In the "Bifurcated Girl." One of the best comedy sketches in Vaudeville, and went very strong. 25 min. full stage, 2 shows.
Buily S. Clifford. In "The BROAdway Chappie." his usual Dude speciality Is very neat and a good dancer, and as his set is somewhat unusual it goes first rate. 15 min. in one, 2 shows.
Al Leach and the Three Rosebuds. Same act they have been giving us for two years past and which is very good. 26 min. open full stage, close in one, 2 shows.
Holloway Trio. Wire act. The greatest act of the kind we have had. Big hit. 15 min. full stage, 2 shows.
Edwin Latell. Black-faced musical comedian, It is quite remarkable how well this man wears although he gives nothing new. 28 min. in one, 2 shows.
Leroy and Clayton. In their old act, "Hogan of the Hansom." It went first rate in a very difficult position on the bill. 25 min. full stage, 2 shows,
Biograph. O.K.
The only fault I have to find with this program is that all the good acts have been seen here several times. There is no doubt to the fact that they will please all who see them, but I am afraid that the show made up of so much that has been seen here quite often, may not draw the money, however the week will tell.
