334 REPORT OF PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 21, 1903. Kekelter Wire act, after the style of Caicedo, but not nearly as good. From a 3 a day standpoint, a good little act and thoroughly all right to open show; 9 Min. Full Stage, 3 shows. Cara Killiani This girl has a very fair appearance and lots of assurance but her voice is very metalic. Still, from a 3 a day standpoint she may be classed as fair, but should be used only in a early part of the bill. 8 Min. in One. 3 shows. Cherry & Bates Comedy bicycle act. About the same as the usual run of 3 a day acts of that kind. Fairly good. 13 Min. Full Stage. 3 shows Lew Simmons & Frank White It is surprising how many laughs these people get with their old material. They are playing, "Get In The Band Wagon". They go very strongly. 20 Min. in One. 3 Shows. Albano Troupe. This act was somewhat disappointing. They have quite a number of intruemnts, and make a good showing, but their music is not very attractive, either from a high grade or from a vaudeville standpoint, and they fell very short of making a hit. 18 Min. Open Full Stage. Can do a short close in One. 2 shows. Ed Gray. Monologuist. This man is entitled to grest credit, for he always brings a lot of new and good material. While not great, he never fails to reach the audience, and gets lots of laughs and applause. 17 Min. in One. 3 Shows. Isabelle Urquhart. In "Even Stephen". She never was very strong here, and this engagement is no exception. It is a nice clean act, and it is all right to play it about as often as we do. This is the first time we have had her in more than three years. She falls considerably short of being a headline feature. 20 Min. in 3. 2 shows. Si Stebbins. Card manipulator. This man's work is entire,y different from that of most card manipulators, his method being mostly memory and location of cards i pack rather than sleight of hand. Because of this, his work is quite mystifying, and it goes very well with the audience. 15 Min. in One. 3 Shows. Francis Gerard. Posings and muscular exhibition, a la Sandow, and feats of equilibrity. This act is very good, but created no sensation at all. Of course, considering the difference in his salary and that of Sandow, we could not expect him to make the furore that the more famous performer created. He did very well however. 11 Min. Full Stage. 2 Shows. George Wilson. Minstrel Comedian. He always goes very well here, and this engagement is no exception. Very good. 18 Min. In One. 2 Shows. Monroe, Mack & Lawrence In "How To Get Rid Of Your Mother-In-Law". The same laughing success as on previous engagements. 18 Min. in 3. 2 shows. Brandon & Wiley. Colored man and woman in songs and dances. Pretty much the same as all acts of this kind, except that the man introduces quite a little novel acrobatic dancing. From a 3 a day standpoint it is a very goo act. 13 Min. in One. 3 Shows. Blocksom & Burns. The same act they have used before, with some additional new features. Blocksom has a new partner whom I consider an improvement on the old. They were a great laughing success. 14 Min. Full Stage. Can close in One. 2 Shows. Bioscope. O.K. Charles Lovenberg, Manager.
