bIJOU THEATRE - CRITICISM - WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 7th, 1903. #2 JAMES THORTON: Jim looked like a relic of a hard week when he walked in this morning, and his act showed the effect of his dissipation; he handed up 12 minutes of pretty good stuff, but his voice was in pretty bad shape. Bonnie is here and guaranteed to straighten him out for the rest of the week, but this is dubious. EDMOND HAYES & CO. "A WISER GUY" Man and woman and the two property boys in a 25 minute sketch. The work in this sketch is too rough for the other houses, but just the thing for here; made a big hit to-day. C. D. Fancy in 3. KENO WELCH & MONTROSE: 3 men, comedy acrobatic and tumbling act. Montrose, the new man, has improved the act considerably in the department of tumbling but the formation of the bridge is not nearly so secure as with Melrose; Montrose has not that part of the act down pat as yet. Did 18 minutes and had them laughing all the while they were on. BIOGRAPH 20 minutes; collection of views on old machine was only fair this week; no comedy interest in it at all, but the fact that the house has not had a biograph for a year made it go better than ordinary. COMMENT: The show is just the quality of show that this house ought to have. On account of opening a little bit early, the programme was run a little bit irregularly, but during the night we run straight, and run and look smooth. EVERYTHING BETTER AT NIGHT HOUSE. P.F. NASH.
