C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. MAY 8, 1911. MAREENA, NEVARO & MAREENA. 9 min. F.S. This act is well known on the circuit. Makes a fine opener and received the usual good applause throughout. Introduced quite a few new stunts. The closing feat - hand-to-hand jump - was loudly applauded. TWO PUCKS. 12 min. in one. Open and close in one. Gave a dance and a good song in one. Proceed to two with the work on the piano and some good instrumental songs and dance work; goes back to one with some character comedy and with a change of costume. Every number was well applauded. The tough song and dance at the finish got an immense hand. JERE GRADY & CO. "The Butterfly." 20 min. F.S. The first time for this sketch here. Has been described elsewhere. Good bit of Irish character, and a picture of dressing room life. Held the interest of the audience all the way through and closed well. LITTLE BILLY. 13 min. Opens in one, proceeds to two, goes back to one. Material entirely different from what he presented before. His recitation of Whitcomb's "Goblin" ballad got immense applause. In fact, the little fellow was a hit all the way through with his songs and recitation, as well as his dancing. Has improved immensely since his last appearance here. Closed very strong after his eccentric dance. MARION GARSON & CO. 23 min. F. S. Presenting a miniature opera, entitled, "The Belle of Seville." Miss Garson herself sings and dances very well indeed and has surrounded herself with a capable company. The act possesses quite a good bit of class, held the attention throughout and closed very well indeed. HOWARD & NORTH. "Back in Wellington." 20 min. in 1 1/2. Great favorites here and went as immensely as ever. Advance hand, strong applause all the way through with a good finish. "ROMANCE OF THE UNDERWORLD." 40 min. in three acts. F.S., in one and F. S. The recommendations that have gone ahead concerning this play fully proved themselves today. The audience was held in rapt attention throughout the three acts. There was frequent laughter and applause. Think that the act will be talked about by everybody who sees it and work up strong business for these two weeks. It is worthy of the highest praise. Closed very strong. STEPP, MEHLINGER & KING. 17 min. in one. These fellows certainly hold this difficult spot in wonderful shape. The act is full of life and ginger; all the material is new, and they go after the crowd all the way through to rousing applause. Came highly recommended and thoroughly justified it. Closed big. FOUR LONDONS. 7 min. F.S. Undoubtedly the best casting act ever seen in this house and coming on at 5 o'clock on a Monday afternoon following a succession of hits, they were a sensation and held the crowd, closing to terrific applause. KINETOGRAPH. "The Beautiful Gorges of Tarn." Undoubtedly the most beautiful travel film we have ever shown in this theatre. GEN. REMARKS. One of the biggest and possibly the best Vaudeville show we have had in this house in years. Every act scored and about half of them were sensations. If there is any show business in town, we must get it. Music Hall Pawtucket R. I. 3 days May 8--9--10 Ascott & Eddie Man and woman, talking and acrobatic dancing, well dressed, 10 minutes full stage, went good Nichols, Nelson Troupe 4 men, hoops rollers and jugglers, neatly dressed clever, 8 minutes, went big Bert Fitzgibbon Singing and talking, eccentric, 20 minutes in one, went big, strongest single act ever played here Sully Family 3 men, two women, comedy sketch introducing singing and dancing, well done, 20 minutes, went big David R Buffinton
