Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of February 10, 1913. CHAS. LOVENBERG, Manager. The show today was somewhat disappointing, after the excellent bills that we have had. Lydia & Albino were about the only real hit in the show with Britt Wood and Billy "Swede" Hall dividing honors for second place. We were handicapped somewhat by the absence of one of the members of Haydn, Dunbar & Hadyn, who sprained his ankle a couple of weeks ago; properly, the act should never had been allowed to come here and we should have been advised of the conditions last week, but as I needed them today and tonight, had to accept things as they came. Whatever business we do will, no doubt, be due to Lulu Glaser's drawing powers. BORANI & NEVARRO Man and woman and dog; acrobatic comedy; a very good opening act; the man does some clever stunts, but the dog is the feature of the turn. 15 Min. F. S. Could close in One. AL & FANNIE STEADMAN These people were on in No. 3 spot at the first performance, but am moving them up here in order to get a better running of the show. They didn't do very well, although they didn't really fall down. The opinion that I formed of them on their last visit remains; that it is a very uncouth act with little merit. After Miss Steadman had made her funny faces three or four times, they became tiresome. A fair No. 2 act. 16 Min. in One. HAYDN & DUNBAR As mentioned above, they came here one man short, which materially weakens their act. It is by no means the turn that the three men did when I had them as Haydn, Borden and Haydn. I am inclined to think, from what I have seen, that the new man is not as good as the one he replaced. However, it is really not fair to judge under the conditions. 15 Min. in One. LEW HAWKINS Black-face monologuist. This man's work commences to show weakness because of old fashioned methods. He went fairly well and that is about all that I can say. 14 Min. in One. LULU GLASER with THOS. RICHARDS & CO. As this act has been seen by about every manager, there is no need for me to go into details as to its merits. The audience accepted it with mild favor today. I believe they are going to class it as pretty good and still are going to be somewhat disappointed. Her great value is going to lie in her name. If we can't draw on the strength of that, I'm afraid we are dished. 20 Min. F. S. BRITT WOOD Young boy, rube comedian, harmonica player and eccentric dancer. Under ordinary circumstances, I wouldn't dream of putting this young fellow down here, but he seems to be in one the best act from the audience's standpoint, that we have on the bill and I think he is the logical person to put in this spot. 11 Min. in One. LYDIA & ALBINO Man and woman, splendid equilibrist act, presented in a most showmanlike manner. The woman's attractiveness goes far to helping it along, although their work is exceptionally good. 10 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
