REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK MARCH 16, 1914..W.W. Prosser. CHAS. AND ANNA GLOCKER: Man and woman in a juggling act. Novelty feature is the work with water-filled vessels. Good, fast act which made good throughout. Thoroughly satisfactory and finished quite strong. Special in 4, 11 minutes. (Milwaukee) MEREDITH & SNOOZER: Trainer and dog. Very entertainig act. Man has good line of talk and pleasing personality. The dog is well trained and exhibits unusual intelligence. He works very slowly, but seems to hold interest, notwithstanding. Attention throughout and a good finish. Olio in 1, 16 minutes. (Youngstown and Akron) ALBERT PERRY & CO: Two men, one woman in a comedy playlet "Reno and Return". Alright for an act of this kind, though nothing unusual. Pleased thoroughly and finished quite strong. Dark Fancy in 3, 15 minutes. (Springfield, Mass) CLARK & VERDI: Two men. Italian comedians. This is a great character delineation. Very effective and thoroughly natural. Got over without apparent effort, demonstrating the fact that they are real artists. Abundant laughter. Attention throughout and a very strong finish. Street in 1, 14 min. (New York) MARIE & MARY McFARLAND: Two women vocalists. They bill themselves as "The American Melba" and "The Operatic Star With an International Reputation". They do not live up to their billing. Sang four numbers pleasingly, and scored a good finish, but, all in all, there is nothing out of the ordinary about their act. They haven't a very good idea of putting their stuff over. In fact, the lack showmanship. Their method is more of the concert or lyceum order. As the feature of our bill, they will not draw any money and will not be worth any thing like the figure they are getting here. They would be alright at about one-half their salary. Fancy in 2 1/2, 12 min. (Pittsburgh) FISHER & GREEN: Two men, one woman in "The Partners", a one-set "Potash and Perlmutter" playlet. This is a cracker-jack comedy number, with excellent work on the part of all concerned. The act was a distinct and unqualified success. Went big throughout and finished strong. Olio in 1, 17 min. (Cincinnati) DEIRO: By all odds the greatest artist on the Piano-Accordian that has ever hit this town. He can play more and better with two fingers than all the others we have had can play with ten. A thorough musician, with style, temperament and all the necessary attributes. He was the biggest Monday afternoon hit of the season, and could have almost given the whole show alone. Several encores and bows galore. Olio in 1, 17 min. (Open) HUSLEY TROUPE: Right people, all told. Men, women and children. A classy and fast acrobatic act that stacks up well with anything we have had for some time. Good work all the way through. Applause after many of the tricks, and a strong finish. Palace in 5, 7 min. (Cincinnati) MOTION PICTURE: Edison Comedy, O.K.
