B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE - BOSTON - MASSACHUSETTS. Week of April 6th 1914 (Robert G. Larsen) KRAMER and ROSS. 9 minutes in one. Olio Drop. Two man dancing act. Open with a little talk, but manage to round out a good close with their eccentric dancing. All right for number two spot. FLORENCE LORRAINE and EDGAR DUDLEY 15 minutes f. s. Special Set. "The Finish." A Protean comedy written around Miss Lorraine's characterization of a Swedish scrubwoman. Got quite a few laughs. MCK and ELLIS. 13 minutes in one. Olio Drop. A rattling good two-man-and-woman singing and dancing act. Open with songs, go to eccentric dancing, and finish with tango. A decided hit. THREE HICKEY BROTHERS 13 minutes in one. Special drop. This well-known act scored its usual success. WINONA WINTER 14 minutes in one. O. P. Drapery. Miss Winter has a pleasing personality. Her songs are all new to Boston audiences. Puts her stuff over in good shape. Closed well with the ventriloquial song with the dummy. LOUISE GALLOWAY and CO. "Little Mother." 28 minutes f. s. C. D. F. This sketch is programmed as a comedy. The audience this afternoon laughed at the tangoing by the housemaid. Miss Galloway makes an appealing picture as the mother, and it is her work that makes the piece worth while. Held the interest. Closed well. JAMES T. DUFFY and MERCEDES LORENZ 18 minutes in one. Special drop. One of the best man-and-woman acts in the business to-day. Miss Lorenz makes a stunning appearance, while Duffy is a clever light comedian. Their material is new and original. The close with the elopement in a prop auto was very strong. JESSE L. LASKY'S "THE BEAUTIES" 42 minutes f. s. Special Set. "The Beauties" ranks as one of the very best productions Lasky ever put out. The comedy element is fully as strong as in "The Red Heads," while the scenery and costumes are beautiful. Held the audience to the finish. Closed strong with the parade of the court beauties of all nations. MOTION PICTURES OF MAYOR JAMES M. CURLEY 7 minutes picture sheet. This is a local film, showing the Mayor of Boston attempting to out-walk Mayor Harrison of Chicago. Mayor Curley beat the record established by Mayor Harrison, covering the four miles from his home to city hall in one hour and fifty-seven minutes. The picture shows him enroute. An interesting local feature. CUTS: Lorraine & Dudley - "Hell" Louise Galloway - "damn" and "My God" "The Beauties" - "damn"
