BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R.I. REPORT OF THE SHOW MONDAY, May 11th 1914. WELLS & FISHER: Singing, talking and dancing, 12 minutes in (I) Fairly good act, much of their stuff being extremely old. Their only happy moments, and these are decidedly few, appear to have been purloined from Wood & Wyde whose appearance here is still fresh in one's memory FRANK PALMER: Comedian and cartoonish, 10 minutes in (I) Good novelty act, much of his talk is very funny and gets considerable laughter. Audience very favorably impressed. FREDERICK V. BOWERS & COMPANY: 15 minutes, 5 special drops. 5 people. A veritable riot of acclaim; Audience could not get enough and he was obliged to respond again and again. His act is practically new compared to his former offering here, and I think I can safely say that no mistake was made in again bringing him to our town. I personally have been favored with many expressions of approval over his return engagement. H.E. [Parmenter?] Manager. BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R.I. REPORT OF THE SHOW THURSDAY, May 14th 1914. THE PUPPETS: Manakin act, 12 in (I) man and woman. A very cleverly manipulated manakin novelty. The comedy occasioned roars of laughter, and the audience seemed exceedingly well pleased. One of the most successful novelty acts that has yet been with us. ARTHUR DAY: Singing, talking and dancing, 10 minutes in(I) With the exception of a few jokes which Noah himself would have ostracised from his habitation because of their antiquity, his act is good. The drollery which characterizes his song offerings is most infectious, and an eccentric dance shows much appitude as a deciple of Terpsichore. His Chinese delineation is so good that for the moment, one seems literally transplanted into the land of the pagoda. FOUR SOLIS BROTHERS: Marimba experts, 12 Minutes full stage. Very good act. Their selections on the marimba are quite the best heard here for some time past. Embracing a wide variety of selections from classic to popular airs, their offering easily wins the approbation of the most fastidious, and the audience was most generous in the bestowal of the laurels of public approval. H.E. Parmenter Manager.
