Report on Providence show week of September 28, 1914. Charles Lovenberg, Mgr. The bill this week is somewhat disappointing, rather weak on acts in one. ZEDA & HOOT Contortion act with a little dancing by the woman of the team, presented with special scenery, man made up as a dragon and woman as an owl. Rather a small time offering. 6 minutes F. S. WALTER JAMES Tramp comedian. Mr. James did not do very well. 15 minutes in one. SIX BROWN BROS. Well known musical act playing on brass instruments and saxophones. Acceptable because is is unusual rather than because of the work they do. Went well but not a big hit. 15 minutes open F. S. close in one. RIGGS & WITCHIE Exceptionally fine dancing act with a little singing interspersed. 16 minutes F. S. short opening in one. CRAIG & WILLIAMS Two men whose work somewhat resembles that of Smith & Campbell in their earlier days. These men have good personalities but material not as strong as it should be. Act would be all right further up on the bill. 14 minutes in one CRESSY & DAYNE In their sketch, "The Village Lawyer". Too well known to require comment. 27 minutes F.S. VON TILZER & NORD Singing act with piano with pleasant offerings but not strong enough for this position. 20 minutes in one. MCLALLEN & CAPSON Skating act. The most important part of which is the production. Work itself not unusual. Did not get much applause. 14 minutes F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
