REPORT on BOSTON SHOW for WEEK of OCTOBER 26th - 1914 (R. G. Larsen.) PATHE WEEKLY 16 minutes in one. Picture Sheet. Not so good as some of the films we have had lately. BETTY BOND and JIMMY CARSON 16 minutes. Open Palace in two. Close Olio Drop in one. A very good man and woman singing act full of life and ginger, that went over first rate. THE LANGDONS 14 minutes f.s. Special Set. These people have dressed their act up with new scenery since they last appeared here. Scored one of the laughing hits of the show. HARRY VON TILZER assisted by DOROTHY NORD 24 minutes in one. Olio Drop. This act went over fairly well. It is rather quiet and long drawn out. CHARLES and FANNY VAN 14 minutes in one. Street. Doing the old act, "A Case of Emergency." Going as big as ever. Scoring a decided laughing hit. HENRIETTE DE SERRIS' TABLEAUX VIVANTS 13 minutes f.s. Special Set. One of the greatest living picture acts we have ever played. The subjects are well chosen, and the whole offering is beautifully staged. A really great act that went over in great shape. "RABBIT" MARANVILLE of "THE BRAVES" assisted by ED MACHUGH 15 minutes in one. Olio Drop. Maranville is no stranger to the stage, having appeared in vaudeville last season with Griffith of the same team. This year he is assisted by Ed Machugh, who is a wellknown Boston story teller and entertainer. Machugh recites a travesty on Tennyson's "Charge of the Light Brigade," entitled "Charge of the Braves' Brigade," which introduces Maranville. The latter sings a couple of songs, Machugh does a number, and they finish with "The Grand Old Game of Baseball," with Maranville doing his wellknown coaching and sliding during the chorus, which takes them off. Needless to say, the short stop of the "Braves" and hero of the World's Championship Series was a RIOT. ARTHUR PRINCE 30 minutes f.s. Special Set. Without question the greatest ventriloquist who ever played this house. Dresses as an officer in the Royal Navy, with his dummy clad as a sailor, and using a scene showing the deck of a British warship. Has a great line of material, every bit of it original, and kept the audience laughing every minute. Closed very, very strong. THE GIRL FROM MILWAUKEE 10 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. An excellent straight singing act, that held this spot with credit. MASCOGNI and MASCOGNI 9 minutes f.s. Palace. Two men, one made up as a woman, in sensational modern dances of the whirlwind type. A very fast dancing act that made an excellent closer to a great big show.
