H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW NOV. 23, 1914. HEARST-SELIG PICTURES. 15 min. Very good set of pictures this week with uptodate news and war films. A little Thanksgiving atmosphere was added appropriately. JACOB'S DOGS. 8 min. F.S. Routine of tricks by the animals also some hand-balancing by the man is mostly familiar but well done and the comedy injected gets some laughs. Act is nicely dressed and for a novelty made a satisfactory opener. BYAL & EARLY. 12 min. in One. Man and woman comedy singing and dancing. Singing and dancing only fair. Girl works up the comedy by the contortions of her double-jointed arms. The act got a fair amount of laughs and finished well through a travesty recitation. LORRAINE & DUDLEY. 20 min. F.S. "The Way to a Man's Heart." Comedy sketch played in a special set representing a kitchen interior. Comedy is carried out by man attempting to do his own cooking and housekeeping. Girl first appears in the role of a Swede cook, afterwards changing to a straight part. Considerable horseplay is indulged in, getting a fair amount of laughs. Act made a fair impression. WILLA HOLT WAKEFIELD. 15 min. in One. Still retains her charm and radiant personality that has made her such a remarkable favorite here and in other houses. She was accorded a warm reception and her act registered as big a hit as ever. Sang five songs, all new and of the recitative kind familiar with her and then closed with one of her old songs be request. MORTON & AUSTIN. 19 min. Rough comedy act following about the same routine as done by Morton & Moore. Act runs to the nonsensical stuff from start to finish including bits of singing, dancing and acrobatics. Two women are used for small bits. The nut stuff seemed to hit our audience right and after keeping the laughs going steadily while they were on the stage, the boys closed very strong, their encore bit leaving the audience in roars. BOBBY NORTH. 16 min. in One. Sang several songs of the travesty type interspersed with bits of talk. Works in evening clothes and gets his material over with good results through clever handling. Has a good singing voice and was very well liked. He took the place of Charles & Fannie Van on the bill. EDDIE FOY & SEVEN LITTLE FOYS. 19 min. in F. S., close in One. New act is much better than the old one inasmuch as it is given a better start. Foy's family contributes the bulk of the act, however, and scored strongly, finishing to solid applause which brought them back for an extra encore number and several bows. RYAN & TIERNEY. 14 min. in One. Sang several songs which brought them liberal reward in the way of applause. Their songs are not new but they did very well with them and the act made good in an important position. HENRIETTE DE SERRIS. 13 min. F.S. A very high class posing act, the subjects being a series of reproductions of works of art in painting and sculpture, all well chosen and splendidly posed by a company of fifteen. Act was well received in the closing position.
