Report on Providence show week of January 4, 1915. Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr. It is generally conceded that this is the best show we have had in a long while and many people think it is the best vaudeville show they have ever seen. There is plenty of class to it and lots of comedy and everything contains merit. NOVELTY CLINTONS Man and woman with all the work done by the man, the woman simply moving the properties around the stage. Mr. Clinton is a very good trick jumper and the act made a first class opener. 11 minutes F. S. THE MISSES CAMPBELL Two attractive young women, who sing some modern and old time songs with good effect. A little touch of comedy and a little playing on the banjo and piano. They have a drop of their own which is very attractive. 12 minutes in one and a half. COAKLEY? HANVEY & DUNLEVY This is probably the weakest act on the bill and something of a disappointment. They went fairly well but I think one can usually secure a better act for the same money. 20 minutes in one. MANUEL QUIROGA Violin soloist. The word, wizard, has been applied to Signor Quiroga and I do not know of any name that fits him better. His technique is as good as any violinist I have every heard and I have heard the best in the world. He lacks some of the musicianly qualities of Kreisler or Ysaye but when it come to getting over the strings, he can do as much as any of them. This is an act, if properly handled, that cannot fail to draw into the house every dollar that is paid him. to say he was a hit would be putting it very mildly. After his four number, he was called back for bows many times all of them legitimate and was forced to render a fifth number. On Wednesday after the matinee Mr. Quiroga will give a special recital of a more classical program to any one who holds tickets or coupons for any other performance and who are interested to hear him play something of a more classical and musical nature. We have already issued nearly a 1000 cards for this His vaudeville act runs 20 minutes and I am using him F. S. JULIET? Well known mimic and comedienne, who repeated the success of her former visit. 25 minutes in one. ALLAN BROOKS & CO. In an exceedingly clever and comical sketch called, "Straightened Out" that made a big hit. 25 minutes F. S. HENRY LEWIS First time here for Mr. Lewis and judging from the way he went with the audience, he is going to be very welcome for a return visit. Another of the big hits of the bill. 20 minutes in one. LIPINSKI'S DOGS By far the most pretentious and entertaining dog act we have ever had. Closed the show and I do not believe a dozen people went out while the act was on and most of these went out at the very beginning. A decided feature for any house. 15 minutes F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
