Saving...
Report of Providence show week of January 25, 1915. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. The show this week is not very good as a whole. Some of the acts are quite disappointing but, in spite of that, in view of the advance sale that we have, brought about by an announcement of Karl Jorn, I think we will have a very good week's business. HOWARD & CHASE Two men in a mixture of lots of things. Not worth while going into because no one would want to play them. I would not consider them good enough for our small houses. 15 minutes in one. FRED & ADELE ASTAIRE A youthful couple in some songs, a little piano playing, and some exceptionally good modern dancing. Good act and scored well. 12 minutes in two. BERT ERROL Well known impersonator, whose work got over as strongly as usual. 18 minutes open and close in one with a bit in two in between. FISHER & GREEN Jewish comedians in their well known sketch entitled, "Partners". This act went a great deal better than on its previous visit here. They seemed to have added quite a little to it and it was presented better. Not a big hit but went very well. 18 minutes short opening in one close F. S. MARIE NORDSTROM Miss Nordstrom has a nice a refined turn but it seems to just fall short of being very good. The act is not offensive in any sense, in fact, it was liked, but lacks punch. Failed to go big any moment in the act. Went off to fairly good applause. 12 minutes open in one then in two and short close in one. KARL JORN Metropolitan Opera house tenor. Mr. Jorn sang four high operatic numbers in his masterful style receiving tremendous applause for each. Big recall on the third or fourth number and enough applause to sing a fifth if he cared to do so. The audience did not want him to leave at any time. A real big hit. 18 minutes F. S. CLARK & VERDI Italian comedians who scored the laughing hit of the show. 20 minutes in one. "FIXING THE FURNACE" Talking act in F. S. with a furnace setting. Has some funny spots but as a whole I call it a very poor act for what it costs. 14 minutes F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
