Report on Providence show week of March 29, 1915. Charles Lovenberg, Manager. The bill is to my mind as fine a one as we have ever had in this theatre and with the house by no means full, the applause was spontaneous and plenty for every act on the bill and plenty of laughs where they were required. In spite of Holy Week I think that we will pull up to a good week's business. HARRY & BERT MORRISSEY Two young fellows in an act built along the lines of that of Dixon & Doyle. Of course, not nearly so good but all right for an early spot, up to No. 3. 12 minutes in one. THE SCOTCH PLAYERS This is a quaint little sketch very nicely played and the characters well drawn. It pleased thoroughly and could go down on the bill a couple of pegs further. 17 minutes F.S. EDWIN GEORGE Comedy juggler, whose work made as big a hit as it has on previous visits. 15 minutes in one. SCHOOLER & DICKINSON Miss Dickinson makes a clever assistant as a vocalist to Mr. Schooler's piano playing, which from a vaudeville standpoint, is exceptionally good. The act was a very big hit. 19 minutes in one. "WAR BRIDES" In all my experience I have never seen a playlet with as tremendous power contained in it as this one. The applause was tremendous at many intervals throughout the play and very strong at the finish. As to the company, it is all that could be asked and, while I have never seen Mme. Nazimova in this particular part, I have seen her in other things several times, and I am quite satisfied that she cannot play the part any better, if as well, as Miss Varesi, who is playing it in this company. At any other week than Holy Week I should expect a tremendous business. I shall be very glad to play it back next season with this company. 33 minutes F. S. RUTH ROYE The audience and I were in perfect accord that this is the best single woman that has been here this season, not forgetting Belle Baker, Fanny Brice, and Nan Halperin. 13 minutes in one. HENRY LEWIS Repeated back this season because of his big hit made in January and a big hit again to-day. 20 minutes in one. LONG TACK SAM Big flashy showmanlike act that made a fine finish to a great bill. 23 minutes F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
