REPORT on BOSTON SHOW for WEEK of MAY 10th - 1915. (R. G. Larsen.) "LUSITANIA" MOTION PICTURES 10 minutes in one. This film aroused a great deal of interest here, and was received with close attention. DONALD KERR and EFFIE WESTON 8 minutes in two. Palace Drop. A lively dancing act, featuring a cane dance and cake walk. Full of ginger and made a good opener. WILL H. MORRISSEY and DOLLY HACKETT 18 minutes in one. Olio and reversed drop. A very good act. The only bad feature is Morrissey's tendency towards blueness. A liberal use of the blue pencil was necessary after the Monday matinee. They finish with a motion picture burlesque that is funny and novel. AVON COMEDY FOUR 21 minutes f.s. Kitchen. Close in one. Garden. Same old riot. Gave the show a great start. EVA CONDON, JACK DEVEREAUX and CO in "The Same Old Thing." 13 minutes f.s. This is the sketch played by Fannie Ward some years ago. I regret to say that Miss Condon suffers by comparison. Would not advise any one to play it further down than #3 spot. The price is too high. EDDIE CANTOR and AL LEE 14 minutes in one. Garden. Another good act with a tendency towards blueness. They sprang a gag about a folding bed and an old maid here Monday afternoon that was about the rawest thing we have had in many a day. NORA BAYES 21 minutes f.s. C.D.F. The best act Miss Bayes has ever given us. Some great songs, a wonderful costume, and she pulled down one of the biggest hits we have had in the house in a long time. CHICK SALE 25 minutes in one. Special Drop. Got a big advance hand, and held this spot with credit. Ran Nora Bayes a close second for the applause honors. One great, big laugh from start to finish. AMETA 10 minutes f.s. Special Set. Four fire and mirror dances with beautiful light effects. It has been so long since we have had an act of this kind that it was a distinct novelty. A good closer. COMMENT: This is a good show. CUTS: Morrissey & Hackett - Lord help us; Popular in Paris, no, decent; remarks about patrons coming in; Mecca cigarettes; Why girls leave home with Arthur Johnson - Eva Condon, My God; Cantor & Lee - folding bed and old maid gag.
