REPORT on BOSTON SHOW for WEEK of AUGUST 30th - 1915. (R. G. Larsen.) "A 20TH CENTURY COURTSHIP" 24 minutes in one. Picture Sheet. Local motion picture introducing Boston scenes and Boston people, with a thread of a story running through it. Interesting, and caused a good deal of talk. BINNS and BURT 9 minutes f.s. Garden. Very good comedy act on the Roman rings. Made quite a hit. AUGUSTA GLOSE 14 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. This was rather early for a single woman of this type, but Miss Glose got away with it in good shape. FRANCES NORDSTROM and WILLIAM PINKHAM 16 minutes f.s. C.D.F. A comedy with a surprise finish, written around a dream. A good act, well played, and scored heavily. TONY HUNTING and CORINNE FRANCES 17 minutes in one. Garden Drop. Doing their old act, and getting away with it pretty well. GREAT BELL FAMILY 21 minutes f.s. Palace Set. Third appearance here of this troupe of Mexican musicians. They scored a big hit. WINSOR McCAY 10 minutes in one. Picture Sheet. McCary is introducing his motion picture of "Gertie," doing a monologue along with it, pretending to put "Gertie" through her various stunts, with the aid of a bull-whip. A decided novelty in the cartoon line, and went over in great shape. MAZIE KING and TYLER BROOKE 14 minutes f.s. Special Set. A novel dancing act, Miss King dancing the modern society dances on her toes. Went well. NAT M. WILLS 22 minutes in one. Street. Wills simply cleaned up. Had them laughing every minute, and his parodies brought him a big finish. MARY ELLEN, THE TRAINED ELEPHANT 16 minutes f.s. Garden. Mary Ellen does some good tricks, and made an acceptable closer.
