BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R.I. REPORT OF SHOW, MONDAY, OCT. 11, 1918. CLIFF BAILEY; ACROBATIC COMEDIAN, 12 MIN. FULL STAGE. Does very little real acrobatic work. Does the old Melrose fall with the tables; the remainder of the act comprising not very brilliant comedy that gets a few scattered laughs. HARVEY, DeVORA TRIO: SINGING AND DANCING SKIT, 17 MIN. ONE LADY, TWO MEN, (1), SPEC. DROP. Fairly good act, the dancing being quite clever. Some of the comedy business is ancient, and the laughs are intermittent throughout. BIG CITY FOUR: QUARTETTE, 4 MEN, 18 MIN. (1). An excellent program of selections rendered in an exceptionally artistic manner, makes this the best quartette seen here for a long, long time. [W. E. Parmenter?] Mgr. BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW THURSDAY OCT. 14, 1915. VON SIEGFRIED: MONOPEDE, 7 MINUTES (2) Considering the handicap of having only one leg, he accomplishes some good work in the way of clever jumps. GRUET & GRUET: BLACKFACE COMEDY MUSICAL, 15 MINUTES (1) SPECIAL DROP TWO MEN. Comedy produces plenty of laughter, and the instrumental selections help materially toward the success of the offering. WHITFIELD-IRELAND CO: 20 MINUTES (2) SPECIAL DROP. 1 Lady. 2 Men. Very good offering the comedy causing uproarious laughter from beginning to end. Their special drop with its quaintly humorous advertising proved a riot, the audience "getting" it immediately, and enjoying it immensely. The entire act is a sweeping success. [W. E. Parmenter?] Manager.
