BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R.I. REPORT OF SHOW, MONDAY, JANUARY 31, 1916. MARCOU, SHADOWGRAPHIST: 10 MIN. FULL STAGE. SPECIAL DROP Excepting Gordon Wilde, act is just like all others of its kind seen here, doing practically the same stuff, and the audience was mildly interested. VICTORIA FOUR: MALE QUARTETTE, 15 MIN. (1). They can't sing, and the wretched attempts at comedy are puerile. Poor, very poor. COL. MARK DIAMOND & MME. GRANT, DANCES, 10 MIN. FULL STAGE. Considering their ages, people here thought it amazing that they could accomplish what they did, and through the pure novelty of the affair alone they met with a fair degree of success. [W. E. Parmenter?] Mgr. BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. Report of show for Thursday, Feb. 3, 1916. ELMINA: TRAPEZEISTE, 9 MINUTES, FULL STAGE. Good act, comprising a clever assortment of tricks performed in a graceful and intrepid manner. AL. BURTON'S SONG REVUE: SONGS & IMPERSONATIONS, 17 MINUTES (1) LADY AND MAN. Special Drop. Opens up rather weak, but as it progresses toward the close an improvement is noticeable, and with his last impersonation he makes them up a bit. On the whole it is inferior to the customary Bijou feature. This act was obtained from Boston to replace Kramer and Morton who cancelled, Mr. Kramer being recalled to New York owing to serious illness of child. ARCHER & BELFORD: COMEDY SKIT, 18 MINUTES C.D.F. Lady and Man. As a silent comedian this man is wonderful, causing gales of uproarious laughter by his grotesquely funny work. Lady is capable in her part, but the bulk of the work falls to the man and he takes excellent care of it. Result: A riot of laughs from start to finish. [W. E. Parmenter?] Mgr.
