[[bold]]said "race and religion also." This totaled 7.2 per cent. There were 11 who had no opinion or did not answer.[[end bold]] The proportion of those having no opinion or not answering ran about the same on the specialized questions. A wide representation was obtained on the basis of occupation, and schooling. [[Bold subheading]] Occupational Groups. [[End bold subheading]] In the occupational group, the largest was skilled labor, with 24.5 per cent of those interviewed. Next came clerical and sales persons, with a total of 19.5 per cent. Managers and proprietors were next with 15.3 per cent. The professional total was 11.3 and the semi-skilled labor, 11.5 per cent. Other smaller groups were service employees, housewives, farmer,s and unclassified workers. [[Bold]]Of those interviewed, 72.2 per cent had lived in Des Moines over 10 years.[[end bold]] Interviewers also asked those interviewed if they liked Des Moines as a place to live. Those replying "yes" totaled 87.0 per cent; those saying "no," 8.5 per cent. No answer or other answers were given by 6.8 per cent.
