Page 42 THE ALCHEMIST looked up in the Telephone Directory, City Directory, ect. They often have spies at the door of the theater as people come in and if any well-known person is recognized they will answer their questions. Another little trick is planting employees to overhear conversations ect. After this bit of information is received, the question and information is read into a small telephone which the two wires go up and protrude from the floor of the stage. Anna Eva Fay had metal plates on her shoes and from there the two wires continued up her legs under her stocking and under her dress and up the back of her neck where her long hair hid the fine wires. Then directly behind her ears hidden in the heavy hair were two receivers which were loud enough for her to hear but inaudible to the audience. All she had to do was to make contact with her metal shoe-plates and the wires that protruded from the stage and listen to the information --- not from a dim shadow world that only she, and other mediums can reach, but from a far-from-supernatural source of a small hidden room beneath the stage! !!YEARBOOK!!
