Saving...
Page 16 --- Science Fiction Collector --- years. Issue number thirty. Or, an average of five issues per year. Not/ bad. We wonder how many of the original subscribers to the [[underline]] Collector [[end underline]] are still with us? Not a one, with the possible exceptions of RD Swisher, or HCKoening. And even then, we have our doubts. The first issue appear in May, 1936, and many fans have, literally, "bit the dust" since that time. Even the inimitable Wollheim has faded, much to my dismay. Ah, yes, Wollheim. We remember those days as well - Wollheim, Kornbluth, Michel, Sykora, Taurasi, Moskowitz, McPhail . . . those were the days....humph! We're beginning to sound just like Moskowitz. And, as Robert W. Lowndes would say, "Dear, dear, that wouldn't do." Those editors of fan magazines who wish to trade with the [[underline]] Collector [[end underline]] are wither optimists (and optimists are naught but fools) or else publish magazines of even less regularity than the [[underline]] Collector [[end underline]]. But, anyway, those of you who want to go ahead. Frankly, however, we want an unconditional trade, regardless of issue appearance, or none at all. And, if the [[underline]] Collector [[end underline]] should fall behind now and then, well, we won't be able to help it. Those wishing to exchange please drop me a postal. See you again in the next issue - which we hope to be a thick one - so, until then, adieu . . . . ye editor [[initials]]JVB
